The Writers’ Block is a blog featuring writers of various genres. This is an experiment to see if a multifarious group of authors writing in different genres can come together and form something worthwhile. So far the blog is gaining in popularity and has been listed in the top 10 of the Top 100 Growing Blogs on WordPress.
The Newest Members:
Jadarae started writing in the 5th grade. She’s been told she has a “Terry McMillan” vibe and feels fortunate enough to have developed the “JadaRae” vibe. The author is currently working on the sequel to her first novel A Wanted Man as well as a few other projects. You can view her work on her website, http://www.jadarae.com.
Lyda Phillips is the award-winning author of Mr. Touchdown and Peace I Ask of Thee, Oh River. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, went to school in Memphis, Tenn., and has degrees from Northwestern, Columbia and Vanderbilt universities. She has worked as a journalist for trade papers, weeklies, dailies and United Press International. She has also worked for political campaigns, as a political pollster and public relations executive. Her real love has always been writing. Recently, she was offered an interview on a The Writing Show, a popular Internet podcast, after posting on The Writers’ Block an informative piece on her experience with iUniverse. Peace I Ask of Thee, Oh River also won first place in children/young adult fiction in the Writers Digest International Self-Publish Book Awards, and the author is currently working on a literary novel about family secrets.
