Excerpt from Simplicity – Richness of Life
It has been mentioned in different chapters the different things that entail simple living. Like I said before, simplicity is not the same for everyone; it is something unique for each of us, our economic situation and our state of life at any given time. You must find for yourself what simplicity is for you. However, there are some key elements you should look for in developing the ideal way to simplify your life.
Key #1 What is your main purpose in life?
Key #2 Who are the important people in your life?
Key #3 What legacy do you want to leave behind?
To have a meaningful life, you must have integrity. The only way to have this is to align your way of life with your purpose in life. For many this is a difficult task, since a long time ago their purpose was set aside in the quest for financial gain. If this was your situation, your goals and achievements fell short of grandeur and satisfaction because they were not aligned with your main purpose in life. You can survive, but how do you feel at the end of the day, at the end of the year, at the end of your life? God has placed a purpose for your life deep within you, and unless you live up to it, you feel incomplete, unfulfilled and unhappy. Sit down by yourself and reflect upon the decisions you have made in your life for pure financial gain. If money didn’t matter, what would you rather do? If the world didn’t revolve around the mighty dollar, how would your life look? It is very possible you could use your talents to create some kind of income. You not only will be doing what you love, but you will be passionate about it and live a peaceful and happier life because of it.
